You ever just happen upon a fella, with a really cool mustache that you know would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it? During our trip to the Eagle Outside Festival this year, we were lucky enough to come across just such a guy! He was at the festival as a race supporter and partnered up with The Cyclist Menu to offer up amazing food during the event as well.
His name is Jake Schuppe and he is the big moustached brain power and head inspiration behind Adventure Seekers LLC, based out of Breckenridge, Colorado. He cruised into The Eagle Outside Festival with “LUCY” – his Ford F550 pulling his dream rig! This is no ordinary trailer. It is a custom-built cycling race support community building rig complete with full kitchen, bath, sleeping quarters, and full bike shop. It even has a roof top patio, flat screen and amazing sound system. Generally, it has everything he dreamed of when initially concocting “the ultimate support rig for cyclists.”
His company Adventure Seekers LLC provides specialty equipment to support any cyclists adventure, whether it be cycling industry product launches, race team support for events, or a family reunion to ride mountain bikes in the Moab desert. He works with partners and contractors to provide whatever you might need to make your trip extra special.
Jake started in high school and college as a rower, and was even on the National Team. He grew up on a dairy farm, never shied away from hard work and developed a love for equipment. While rowing, Jake always thought that the trailers delivering the boats should do more, not just sitting empty for the duration of the event. He dreamed about dropping the boats, then having the trailer convert into a space to support the team, providing them a cool space to hang out in comfort so they could race at their best. Jake’s love of cycling soon developed after rowing competition left him and he worked as a cycling coach and mountain bike camp manager. From there he found himself running events and managing plenty of equipment, wondering how things could be more efficient. After designing and building trailers for Shimano he partnered with ATC – an amazing aluminum trailer manufacturing company to build his dream rig. This trailer would be different. It would offer equipment and services better than anything seen in the cycling industry before. Jake worked tirelessly for months with the engineers at ATC and built this trailer from the ground up and Adventure Seekers LLC was born.
Jake and Adventure Seekers LLC has already supported many amazing events in the short 4 months since finishing the rig. Events to date include the all women’s Beti Bike Bash in Arizona, Sea Otter Classic, Whiskey 50, Tour of the Gila, Amgen Tour of California and the Firebird 40 in Eagle, CO. Although the services he has offered at each event have been different, the vibe around the trailer is the same: awesome community and great adventures. No one is ever left out of the conversation, and everyone comes away after interacting with Jake as though they just got “the shirt off his back.” Jake’s infectious energy and ingeniously built rig are sure to be a hit with many adventure seeking cyclists looking for the ultimate support. Jake says, “We don’t want to be huge, were aiming for relationships with annual contracts so we can help build an awesome community and be outside.”
Coming up for Jake and his crew are Leadville Trail 100, The Breck Epic and of course Interbike. Make sure to “seek him out” and say hi. Check out the rig for yourself. Let Jake convince you to ditch the 5 star hotel for your next adventure. Get outside, under the stars with awesome support from him.
Adventure Seekers have their eye on the adventurous traveling cyclists who are looking for purpose-built support vehicles, with possible expansion into the ever popular #vanlife. He hopes to offer a small fleet of awesome built-out vans specifically designed for cyclists and will offer them at a fair price. He believes in treating people well and supporting the cycling community so that it continues to grow and allow people to have authentic adventures in the outdoors with their friends. We here at Crankjoy.com definitely support his vision and hope to see you on the road soon with Adventure Seekers LLC support!
