Needed: Epic Colorado High Country Vacation

Colorado riding is definitely epic and Chasing Epic’s newly announced trip will show you. Upon reading trail descriptions I started salivating with the excitement of getting back to these incredible trails I’ve previously ridden during the Breck Epic.  I thought immediately I need to do this one!

Chasing Epic has dubbed this trip the Wildcard and its based in Breckenridge Colorado. While places like Crested Butte, Durango, Salida, Fruita and Grand Junction garner most of the CO buzz, I can assure you that this place deserves every bit as much.

Details from Chasing Epic:

“PHYSICAL EXERTION: ADVANCED / TECHNICAL ABILITY: INTERMEDIATE +

What to Expect on This Trip: BIG rides with huge climbs and even longer descents.  Epic trails in the Colorado high country that will blow your mind.

If you’re looking for something bigger, tougher, and more epic than one of our regular trips: look no further.  Introducing the very first Chasing Epic WILDCARD trip!  Four full days of riding, bigger rides, smaller groups, and absolutely epic routes that you won’t find on our standard trips.  Why “Wildcard”, you might ask?  First off, these trips take place outside of our standard destinations, and each year we’ll be mixing up where they take place.  Second, we think you’ve got to be a little bit wild in order to ride these with us… they’re BIG!

Our very first trip will be based in Colorado and will hit a group of trails centered around the Colorado Trail.  Think bucket-list epics like Buffalo Creek, Kenosha Pass to Breckenridge, Two Elk in Vail, and Copper Mountain to Searle Pass: this is essentially a collection of our favorites.  Each day brings a new challenge, huge views, and some of the best singletrack you’ve ever ridden.  See below for a full, detailed itinerary.

So, how is a Wildcard trip different than standard trips?

This trip is five days and four nights

– Four FULL days of riding are included

– Smaller group size (max of 10 riders w/ two guides plus a trip leader)

– BIG rides each day (think 20-30 miles or more)

– Multiple point-to-point rides with shuttles

This trip will be guided by our awesome partners at Colorado Backcountry, who have approved permits from the US Forest Service.”
