My 5 Favorite Places to Mountain Bike

This list contains the places I dream about riding my mountain bike.  There are many other places that I love to ride and will visit again, but these are the places that wake my wife at night as I giggle in my sleep.

  1. Sedona, AZ
  2. Squamish, BC
  3. Fruita/Grand Junction, CO
  4. Moab, UT
  5. Sunshine Coast, BC

Over the years, my wife and I have lived and traveled all over the west including what may be the ultimate mecca – British Columbia.  My preferences continue to change as bikes, riding and racing change.    Sedona has had the biggest impact on this change due to the fact that it has forced me to improve my skills and open my mind to what I feel comfortable riding.  For that reason (and because its were I live now) it sits atop my list.

Sedona Highline
Highline trail pedestal where views are awesome and the trail below is equally awesome.

Why else do I like Sedona so much?  Sedona has well over 200 miles of sweet challenging singletrack accessible from anywhere in town WITHOUT getting into a car.   The views aren’t too bad either.

What’s funny is that if you asked me this question 5 years ago, my list would have looked fairly different.  What are your favorite places to mountain bike?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
