Interbike2016: Outdoor Demo

Deviance Django 27.5

We were surprised to see a major change in this year’s attendees at this years Outdoor Demo at Bootleg Canyon, NV.  The absence of many companies including all the major companies was surprising.  There was however a noticeable increase in e-bike companies.  It even appeared that there were more e-mountain bikes than traditional bikes at the demo this year.  Their presence was much more noticeable than last year with what seemed like every other person buzzing by on an e-bike.

Although the non-motorized bikes were harder to find, we were able to test a few gems.

Devinci Django 27.5
The Devinci Django 27.5 is a fun 5″ trail bike with great pedaling and descending characteristics.

Transition Scout Carbon
Transition’s Scout Carbon was a really fun and playful 5″ trail bike that reminded me of some of my favorite others in this category with its snappy yet confident handling.

Devinci Django 29
The Devinci Django 29 is one of the funnier trail 29’s I’ve ridden. The bikes pedals really well, yet like the 27.5″ Django, is really fun when the terrain gets rough and goes down…especially for a bike with only 120mm of rear travel.

Cannondale Habit
I decided to give the Cannonade Habit a second chance after a negative experience with the Lefty on last year’s model. Sadly, the Pike didn’t help much. The Devinci Django and Transition Scout we’re in another league.
