Juliana Roubion Women’s Bike Review

The Juliana Roubion Review:

The Juliana Roubion is a curiously capable all-mountain trail bike designed with enduro racing in mind.  With 150 mm travel front and rear, the Roubion handles tough terrain with ease.

Juliana knows that us ladies like the finer things in life and the price tag definitely reflects that. The demo bike as ridden will set you back well over $7000, with carbon wheels. The folks in Santa Cruz are smart with the demos, building them up super nice in order to allow a swanky test ride.  Consumers know that lesser expensive options are available, but want to test the best.   In fact, you can get into a Roubion for as little as $3899.

Juliana has been on the women’s mountain bike scene since 1999 when the first women’s specific XC mountain bike was made in collaboration with Santa Cruz Bicycles. Juli Furtado – the name behind the brand is a mountain biking LEGEND, winning 3 World Championships in XC and downhill as well as the National Championships and competing in the Olympics.

Forced into early retirement from the highest level of the sport, due to a diagnosis of Lupus; she continues to leave her mark on the sport lending her name to one of the largest women’s mountain bike lines in the world.

Juliana’s attention to detail including stealthy internal cable routing and matching decals on fork and wheels gives the rider a stunning first impression.

The Roubion, is Juliana’s 150 mm (~6″) travel “all-mountain”“enduro”bike equipped with 27.5″ wheels.

The Juliana Roubion fits right in here in Sedona on the red rocks whether it’s on slick rock, drops or chundry rock descents.

Sara also got to test out the Croc-Green Monster! Here are her thoughts on the bike:

The Juliana Roubion is a capable climber and descender but really shines on big fast descents. The build on this bike is well thought-out.  Aesthetically it’s one of our favorites with cleanly routed cables, cool color and a slightly feminine cursive logo.  This bike is for you if you want to be able to take big hits without missing a beat.
