Inspiring Ladies at Sea Otter 2016

This year, the ladies of Sea Otter had a serious presence at, not only the races, but the expo as well.  It was a great place to be if you were a gal, making it an even more attractive place for the guys as well.  It is really amazing to see how this event and the bike industry has embraced us ladies over the past few years.  The double X movement continues to grow with more brands catering specifically to women as well as putting on events to bring the women’s riding community together.  It’s hard not to feel a little sorry for the guys right now.  Thankfully, the ladies embrace them with open arms, encouraging the guys to take part in most of the gatherings and conversations as well.

Even more encouraging are the larger-than-life personalities stoking the massive “ladies movement.”  At Sea Otter they  provided clinics, informational panels and social gatherings allowing ladies to meet and mingle.  The ladies that are in the bike industry are 100% amazing.  From marketing to sales to product managers as well as pro athletes and brand ambassadors, the women in the  bike industry have got it going on.  Below are some of the many inspirational ladies of Sea Otter this year.  Check out and support their projects, and follow them on social media!

MTBR Demo Ride
More amazing lady shredders getting ready to hit the Flow Trail just outside of Santa Cruz. Represented at this ride were the fabulous ladies behind Cog Wild Mountain Bike tours, Cyclingtips.com, Norco Bikes and Turn-Loose.com among others.

There were a couple of other ladies that could not stand still to have their photos snapped. Bev Lucas is the amazing leader behind Knight Composites, making strong, light and cool carbon wheels.  Jessica Klodnicki is the CEO of Bell/Blackburn and finds time to run the massive Girls Rock group rides which was the inspiration behind the Bell Joy Ride Ambassador movement.

So many more women I didn’t get to meet at Sea Otter are literally changing the bike industry and how women ride.  Thanks to them for all they do as well!  I look forward to meeting you all soon and can’t wait to see what all of these amazing ladies can accomplish during the next 365 days.

Thanks for a great time Sea Otter, see you next year!
