Moab Rocks is a gem of an event that showcases some of Moab’s best trails. The race threads riders through super sweet singletrack with incredible terrain and views. As a lot of mountain bike courses in the US are getting groomed enough for cross bikes, this race favors trail bikes with 4-6 inches of travel.

Here’s what to expect, from the Organizers:
“Moab Rocks is an exciting new format of mountain bike racing in quite possibly the most iconic mountain biking destination on the planet. Combining elements of both cross-country and enduro, Moab Rocks is a race to put on your calendar.
Taking place October 10 – 12, 2015, Moab rocks is a three day mountain bike race over classic routes such as Mag 7, Porcupine Rim, and Klondike, incorporating a timed descent within each stage. Timed descent sections commence on a first come first served basis, so racers need to be cognizant of descending abilities of their competition leading up to the timed descent of each stage. A racer’s cross-country finish time is their time for the entire course, including the timed descent, all the way to the finish. The winner of the descent for each racing category is recognized daily, along with the top 3 cross-country times in each category.
Reigning champ and Mountain Bike Hall of Fame member Travis Brown opted for a long travel trail bike to get him through the rigors of the event last year, an equipment necessity that distinguishes Moab Rocks from a standard cross-country or marathon type of event. Descents are long and rowdy, and proper equipment is paramount to a successful day of racing.
Following a day’s worth of racing, Moab Rocks will feature a community gathering every night, with beer from Moab Brewery and a slideshow of photos from a memorable day of racing.”[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
