We have a soft spot in our hearts for Sedona, after living there for a few years. It’s difficult to leave the red rocks and amazing trails for too long. Sedona has many Vortexes, they draw visitors from all over the world. I’m not really sure what they are, but for us, the hundreds of miles of single track is our Vortex.
If you are a mountain biker, you just can’t help but get sucked into the area. This past weekend, the local bike shop Over The Edge and many awesome volunteers and staff put on one hell of a good time at the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival. Last year was really good, but this year the festival exploded and moved to a massive venue with 360 deg views of the trails, rock formations and town. Even more vendors, rides, beer and food were showcased at the Posse Grounds Park in West Sedona.
This year the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival featured nearly every major mountain bike manufacturer with demos of the latest rides available to test on iconic Sedona single track. There were shuttles all over town (Thanks to Hermosa Tours!) to access the 200 +miles (and growing, thanks to Verde Valley Cycling Coalition and Forest Service collaboration).
Other vendors from the bike industry were there as well with clothes, forks, tires and everything you can imagine to make your riding experience top-notch. You could even demo sunglasses. There were many group rides to join in order to get a tour of the spiderweb of red ribbons surrounding this amazing town. Women’s clinics and tech clinics were also a big hit. Food trucks, a fabulous beer garden with 5 local and regional breweries were there to make sure no one was hungry or thirsty. This year was capped off with amazing weather and great skies for incredible photo ops!
