Review: The Black Bibs – High Value for a Tight Ass

Black Bibs

Do you wear bib shorts, or only the crappy liners that come with your baggy shorts?  Maybe you don’t even wear a chamois?  Regardless, the $40 Black Bibs offer something very interested to the mountain biker that is not known to pay much over $100 for a pair of baggy shorts let alone $200+ for bib shorts!  HIGH VALUE, is what Black Bibs offer.

Black Bibs chamois
Padding is thicker than most and offers welcome comfort.  Think of it as a adding a few millimeters of rear travel to your ass.

What’s so special about these bibs?  They are a great basic short that offer a nice layer of comfort at an incredible value.  After a few rides in the bibs I  came to the conclusion that these shorts are far more comfortable than any liner short I’ve ever used. Yea, they may not offer flashy graphics or innovative leg gripper technology, but who cares if they are simply used a liner short.

In case you’re never worn bibs before, you need to experience how awesome they are.  Sadly, you won’t have plumbers crack or harry guts hanging out anymore.  Bibs do give a sex appeal when worn shirtless though – especially if you have harry back and man boobs!  Joking aside, bibs are more comfortable in every way and don’t move around or fall down.  They offer a level of even compression without tight hot spots around the waste from elastic waste bands of liner shorts.

Black Bibs
No leg grippers – remember these are basic BLACK BIBS.  I didn’t have any problem with the legs creeping up though.

Bottom Line

Black Bibs are a very comfortable bib that make for a great liner short or worn alone (shirtless)  – especially for $40!  The comfort and quality aren’t even matched by bibs or shorts that cost twice as much.  I honestly can’t think of a better value in shorts for tight ass’s (and tightwads) like myself.
